BOI revealed that the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) industry was one of the industries that played an important role in the development of the country because PCB was the heart of the production of electronic devices used in various industries such as automotive, medical equipment, telecommunications, smart electrical appliances, automation systems and robots, etc. With the trend of mega global relocations of the production bases and restructures of supply chains, many major PCB manufacturers had decided to invest in Thailand consequently resulting in Thailand to currently become the Number 1 PCB production base in ASEAN and one of the top 5 in the world.<\/p>\n

FPCB has special properties for use with electronic products as it can be bent to fit into complex spaces and shapes. Its advantages are its thin and light shape, making it suitable for use in products with space and weight limitations. Currently, FPCB is adopted for use in everything, from small products such as smart contact lenses to electric vehicle batteries. It is considered a high-value PCB group. Mektec\u2019s project that has been newly promoted this time, is an expansion of FPCB and FPCBA production capacity to support the increasing orders in the electric vehicle group, with an investment of 920 million Baht, employing 260 more Thai personnel (currently accounted for more than 3,000 persons) and using domestic raw materials worth over 2,500 million Baht per year.<\/p>\n

Mektec Manufacturing Corporation (Thailand) Ltd., a world-class FPCB electronic circuit board manufacturer from Japan, said that Mektec had a significant investment advantage from receiving investment promotion from BOI in many projects, with a combined value of more than 5,800 million Baht that most of which were the production of electronic components such as FPCB, FPCBA, etc. It was expected that the PCB business group in Thailand would continue to expand due to the growth of 5G technology, the demand for electronic devices connected to the IoT, the growth of the electric vehicle industry, AI robots, advances in medical device development, etc., including BOI\u2019s promotional measures that allowed for the promotion of the PCB business group in a complete cycle. These factors were important in promoting the PCB industry to have more opportunities for growth in the future.<\/p>\n
