Department of Industrial Works Joins Hands with 7 Entrepreneurs to Raise Level of CO2 Reduction in Industrial Sector

 

 

 

Department of Industrial Works presided over the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the project to drive BCG economy with circular economy system in the industrial factories under the scheme to drive the economy according to the BCG policy for the industrial sector towards CO2 reductions between Department of Industrial Works (DIW) and 7 factories from participating companies consisting of 1) AGC Vinythai Public Company Limited, 2) Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, 3) Bangkok Synthetics Company Limited, 4) Covestro (Thailand) Company Limited, 5) Dow Thailand Group, 6) Global Green Chemicals Public Company Limited and 7) SCG Chemicals Public Company Limited, with Ms. Pattamawan Khunprasert, Director of Factory Environment Technology Promotion Division, acting on behalf of the Chairman of the Project Committee, making addresses on the objectives of the event.

 

 

 

Such MoU signing ceremony is held to mark yet another move to raise the level of action to reduce air pollution and the aMoUnt of greenhouse gas emissions from the industrial sector to achieve the goal according to the government’s policy and help Thailand to be able to manage the reductions in the aMoUnt of greenhouse gas emissions of the country with an aim towards being the Carbon Neutrality country by 2050 and Net Zero GHG Emission by 2065.

 

 

 

On the matter of the cooperation framework, the emphasis is placed on the exchange of the academic information, encouragements on personnel from all Departments to exchange information and learn new science or technology through the organizing of activities, training, seminars or other activities as well as providing technical advice to support the operations of all parties in reducing air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions from the industrial sector. Director of the Petroleum Institute of Thailand and entrepreneurs participating in the signing ceremony also had an open exchange of ideas on reducing air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
