Sahamit Machinery’s 50-Year of Driving Thai Industry Forward
Sahamit Machinery Public Company Limited, importer and distributor of industrial products, raw materials, machinery and equipment for various types of industrial factories, was established on 7 June 1973, and has continued to grow ever since until present, having products to cover and support the growths of domestic manufacturing sector in 5 groups which are hard steel products for making molds and tools; factory tools and machinery products, paper group products, machinery and equipment products for wood industry, and electrical-related products. In addition, the Company has focused on providing pre-sale and post-sale services in various ways to add value to the products which consist of the basic hard steel processing services such as cutting, grinding, drilling, and other services for hardening steel using vacuum furnace system, providing consultations on selecting, installing, and maintaining machinery and equipment, services on paper cutting and processing according to customers’ requirements, sandpaper cutting and processing according to the size that customers’ needs including manufacturing blades for use in wood and paper industries, etc.
Mr. Phut Sorayarnthanawut, Company Managing Director, provided the information that, Sahamit Machinery Public Company Limited was established in 1973, which, up to date, the Company has been in business for 50 years. Throughout the past period of time, Sahamit Machinery Company accounts for 5 business groups with the first group being engaged in the business of hard steel raw materials for mold and tool manufacturing work which has been carried on over ever since the foundation of the Company with long-standing suppliers; the second group being the business of machinery for industrial factories; the third group being machineries and equipment for woodworking, the fourth group being the factory paper and pulp machinery, and, finally, the fifth group being the measuring equipment for electrical engineering and solar roof systems for generating electricity.
“Over the past 50 years, Sahamit Machinery Public Company Limited has consistently operated its business with care and sincerity with its partners, thus, resulting in our customers in the industrial sector to have trust in our Company until now. One thing being the main factor in the Company’s business operations making customers gaining trust in us for a long time is our “After-Sales Service Work” which the Company has Sales and Service Engineers with long experience, thus, creating trust among our customers. Because of our employees which totally amounting to almost 500 that more than half of whom have been working with the Company over 10 years, so, this part of our Working Team has a lot of experience which eventually results in our customers to have confidence in us perpetually.”
Mr. Sorayarnthanawut further added, at present technology is changing very rapidly. Ten years ago, high production technology had not yet been used in the productions in Thailand, thus, the use of machinery or equipment in terms of the automated system was not very much involved in. But, nowadays when labor is more difficult to find, workpieces require greater precision to the extent of causing the demand for use of the automation system to be increasing, various solutions being the automatic systems such as automation systems, AI systems and software, including machines are therefore things which the company has tried to present to Thai manufacturing industrialists to be adopted for more applications to their production processes. Another advantage is to reduce the number of operating personnel, as well.
“Yet, in the reality of working in the industry, it is necessary to constantly develop technology in the production process. Over in the past several years, the industries of neighboring countries had been developed rapidly to the extent of causing those countries to develop somewhat in keeping pace with Thai industry. Therefore, if small, medium and large entrepreneurs should not tend to make investments, improvements and developments in technologies in various production processes to be modern, it could possibly make our competitive potentials reduced. Likewise, when international investors have come to invest with advanced machinery technology, it will be rather difficult for Thai entrepreneurs of all sizes, especially, small ones, to compete.”
