Mr.Nopadol Kangsachat, Assistant Manager of Industrial Automation Machinery Division, revealed that, at METALEX 2020, two types of machines altogether were placed on exhibitions, which on the part of World Premier Launch, it was the latest SG12 EDM machine that had been upgraded from the EA Series. The special property of this model is its feature being a larger structure and when its structure is larger, it can perform function to produce larger size of workpieces, as well. As for the electrode, copper and graphite can be used in the same machine and in the working process of this model, it will provide a smoothly neat surface of 0.1 micron. The launch of SG12 EDM at this event is considered to be the world’s first introduction of its kind and deemed to be a great opportunity for the entrepreneurs to experience the well-designed machine, both on the aspect of the new structure and the improved software, particularly, the software which has been developed to be able to design complex workpieces. When combining it for use with the machine, quality of the produced workpieces has come out much better. This machine is considered the Mitsubishi Electric’s EDM machine being presented to Thai entrepreneurs at this time.
Another machine being put on a show was the 8,000 watt GX-F Series fiber laser machine which had been developed by inserting an AI system into the fiber laser system. The AI Assist system will feature as a detector to check the machine working system that if there should be any part being damaged or worn out, this AI system would do the processing and notify the operator on the control screen that there should be maintenance and when the spare parts should be replaced. The AI system will notify the operator and display images on the usage conditions of various devices remaining left over in percentage. In addition, this AI system will carry on the processing to make the adjustments on the speed and the use of the energy or the other parts automatically. Moreover, Mitsubishi has developed a new function called AGR EGO, a technology using air for controlling nitrogen from spreading out of the surface cutting work in order to get the nitrogen directly contacted with the workpiece which, in this connection, Mitsubishi Japan has already conducted an analysis and exploration that it can help reduce energy costs by up to 90%.
