During the exhibition, Delta is focusing on the five topics of “Smart Factory Solution”, “Smart Machine Building and Integration”, “Process Automation”, “Delta’s ESG Fulfilment”, and “Smart Products” and debuting its Water Purifying Solution, Open-loop Variable-torque Standard Drive VP3000, Advanced Multi-axis AC Servo Drive ASDA-W3, Flexible Packaging Stacking Application, Linear Motor Driven Mini Rotary Actuator LPR, and others. With a variety of exhibits, Delta helps customers quickly find appropriate product solutions based on their needs to enhance production efficiency and energy-saving sustainability for smart manufacturing and ESG trends.
- Water Purifying Solution
Energy saving for process automation is attracting much attention from the industry. Above all, water purifying is one of the processes with high energy consumption due to its non-stop operation required to provide a stable supply of drinking water. Addressing the pain points of the application, Delta is presenting its Water Purifying Solution during Automation Taipei 2022 based on its in-depth energy-saving philosophy. The solution adopts the Sensorless Vector Control Drive CP2000 Series to leverage its large power range and slow starter replacement design to save energy from lower starting and varying current. In addition, Delta’s Water Purifying Solution features automatic control with distributed units and adopts the SCADA System VTScada to create a comprehensive redundancy architecture for process stabilization. Users can also utilize VTScada to rapidly integrate and expand for cross-scenario applications and achieve real-time water quality monitoring and control, automatic feedback adjustment, and tracking management with an intuitive graphic interface and historical database. When an anomaly occurs, the system immediately generates alarms to accelerate feedback and optimize process management.
- Open-loop Variable-torque Standard Drive VP3000
Besides the water purifying process, fluid control admins are also looking for other solutions to help reduce carbon emissions. As a critical part of device-based energy saving, inverters became one of the main focuses of the green wave. Accumulating capabilities in inverter development, Delta is demonstrating the Open-loop Variable-torque Standard Drive VP3000 at Automation Taipei 2022. The VP3000 features excellent driving capability and stability and supports multiple types of high-efficiency motor control. With the synchronous reluctance motors, energy efficiency can achieve the IE5 rating. Compared with the inductive motor structure, the efficiency can increase up to 10% for users to fulfill the vision of energy-saving and save on carbon taxes. Moreover, to respond to industry expectations for low harmony wave pollution, the VP3000 decreases THDi up to 35%, which surpasses the EN 61000-3-12 standard and extends system life. The VP3000 also does not require extra reactors and adopts component optimization technologies for a light and narrow appearance to lower the thresholds for space and increase the front-width utility. The VP3000 streamlines 27% on average and 55% on maximum compared with previous generation models.
In terms of operation, the VP3000 features a wide power range from 0.75 to 630kW for high environmental adaptability and provides a friendly user interface. It is suitable for fans, pumps, HVAC, water supply, compressors, and other variable-torque application equipment. The PCB coating achieves the high industrial standard of IEC 60721-3-3 3C3 to increase electronics component life in a harsh environment or in corrosive gases. The VP3000 also supports multiple languages and offers an intuitive operation panel with industry application parameter recipes, real-time monitoring and control via Bluetooth, and a secondary development platform. The VP3000 also features the PdM (Predictive Maintenance) function to monitor key components for easy maintenance and longer product life.
- Advanced Multi-axis AC Servo Drive ASDA-W3
Along with market development, the compact size and multifunctionality of recent machines and equipment have been common. Due to the growth of control axis numbers, manufacturers not only need enhancement for a single servo drive but also a product with multiple advantages and flexible implementation. Listening to actual feedback from customers, Delta is debuting its new-generation Advanced Multi-axis AC Servo Drive ASDA-W3 with a modular design that users can integrate backplane, power, drive, control, I/O, and energy modules based on requirements and achieve a one-stop multi-axis structure. Every drive module can drive two motors and with the backplane installation, there is no need for cooling spaces between modules, which saves up to 35% cabinet space compared with traditional structures. In addition, the ASDA-W3 offers excellent performance in high-speed multi-axis synchronous applications. With a built-in 12-axis CPU and a backplane module featuring 400Mbps high-speed communication, the ASDA-W3 can achieve multi-gantry control with up to 3.5kHz response bandwidth to shorten the setting time for higher productivity. Other than that, the ASDA-W3 can integrate with Delta’s Load Cell for closed-loop pressing control with real-time force control.
In line with the megatrend of energy saving, the ASDA-W3 also considers energy efficiency in its design. With the back plate module, built-in common DC bus, and energy module*1, the ASDA-W3 can store extra regenerative energy and reuse it when the common DC bus is low on voltage to reduce the use of a brake resistor. Last but not the least, while safety is not negotiable, the control model and drive model of the ASDA-W3 both meet the safety standard of STO SIL3*2 to offer a safe operating environment.
- Flexible Packaging Stacking Application
It is common for packaging to process items in different sizes, textures, and materials. Traditionally, users respond to the changes by switching grippers, which is time-consuming. To solve this pain point in the application field, Delta is introducing the Flexible Packaging Stacking Application demo at Automation Taipei 2022, which integrates the multi-stroke Servo-electric Gripper RS-GPS Series. The RS-GPS Series features an integrated compact design, strong clamping force, adjustable stroke, and simple wiring, which can precisely control positioning, speed, and clamping force with status feedback. It is suitable for 3C electronics, food, packaging, and automotive parts to fulfill one-stop multi-material packaging and stacking for productivity enhancement.
- Linear Motor Driven Mini Rotary Actuator LPR
The critical processes of electronics assembly, semiconductor packaging tests and optical lenses include many Z-axis applications, which require high speed, high precision, and stability for productivity and yield enhancement. Different from a traditional pneumatic cylinder or rotary motor with screws, Delta is demonstrating the direct drive structure of the Linear Motor Driven Mini Rotary Actuator LPR. The LPR contains built-in linear and rotary motors, optical rulers, rotary encoders, and force sensors. All the key parts are developed and manufactured by Delta. Not only can it achieve high-speed and high-precision movements, but its compact size helps side-by-side installation for multi-axis applications to reduce cycle time and increase UPH (Units per hour). In addition, the LPR features a soft landing function, which can break down movements into multiple execution modes to optimize micro-dedicated force control for higher production efficiency and yield. The LPR can also collect, monitor, and control the speed and force for users to analyze anomalies with the saved equipment parameter data.
Besides the exhibits mentioned above, Delta is holding three booth tour sessions and two seminars every day to elaborate more on Delta’s vision for “Sustainable Smart Manufacturing for a Changing World” by sharing topics such as servo screwdriver applications, digital transformation guides for machine makers, SMT solution packs, auto-warehouse logistics, green smart facility solutions, and others. Delta welcomes visitors from different fields to come to its booth at N802, Hall 1, 4F, Nangang Exhibition Center.
