Manufacturing & Supply Chain Unlocking New Technology 2024
Over in the past, W. P. P. Engineering Co., Ltd., opened an Open House together with Thai Cutting Tools Manufacturing Association and partners such as Thai Subcontracting Promotion Association, Thai Automation and Robotics Association, and Thai Tool and Die Industry Association to organize a seminar to showcase new cutting technologies from the United Grinding Group and listen to the trends and directions of the metal cutting tool manufacturing industry on which 4 interesting industries, namely: automotive industry, electronics industry, agricultural and food industry, and the aviation industry were focused. A large number of industrialists and interested parties attended this event.
Mr. Wittaya Ponpet, General Manager of W.P.P. Engineering Co., Ltd., and President of Thai Cutting Tools Manufacturing Association, said, “For this Manufacturing & Supply Chain Unlocking New Technology 2024 event, we see that the electric vehicle industry has played a significant role in the manufacture of automotive parts. It can be seen that the manufacture of automotive interior parts has extremely decreased by 30% to 40%. All 4 Associations foresee this impact and come up with an idea on how to jointly develop the potential of Thai automotive parts manufacturers even more. Therefore, this seminar is organized by aiming at exchanging knowledge among each other in order to enable SMEs manufacturers to have competitiveness on global level as Chinese products has played a major role in the global markets. Thailand has also been affected by the Chinese products, thus, manufacturers would need to adapt themselves in order to survive. But how should they adapt themselves in the sense of their potential and efficiencies? There are 2 main things that need to be urgently adjusted: 1. Production potential. 2. What can we do to reinstate the decreased number in the markets to return to increase? We may need to expand more markets for other industries. The products manufactured must be at low cost, of good quality, and consume fast production time, which will allow the markets to expand and become more competitive.”
