Spark or EDM machine oil filter… separates spark dust and debris from the oil, keeping the oil clear and clean. When sprayed, flooded, or there’s “work” in the submerged spark area, there won’t be any electrically conductive debris… getting into the gap between the electrode and the workpiece… hindering the spark and making the machine feel “too close to the workpiece” beyond the allowed distance set by the Voltage Gap Control…If the oil is clear and free of debris, it will provide stable sparking, prevent easy arching, uneven surface finish, not cause any damage from arching, and excessively slow sparking.

 

Therefore… if it’s clogged to the extent of being broken… the consequence to occur to the workpiece is that debris and powder will pass through, and the oil will never be clear…

 

This is extremely important. If the problem has not just immediately apparent like a car accident… we might not think about it.

 

 

Removing Dust from Filters… How to Clean Them

 

The air passages for entering and exiting the control cabinet of machinery are important. The air inlet with the dust filter is usually at the bottom. The outlet without a filter is usually at the top.

 

Allowing the filter to become clogged reduces airflow, leading to higher-than-normal heat buildup. This shortens the lifespan of the equipment and reduces operational stability.

 

 

When the machine is still running, the openings without dust filters will only have air flowing out of the cabinet, carrying heat away… Dust will not re-enter the cabinet… except when the machine is shut off, the fan drawing air into the cabinet will stop rotating… It would be good to find a way to prevent dust from entering during the time the machine is shut off. Small Details Often Overlooked in Many Establishments…
