MGMC Unlocks New Strategic Opportunities for the Thai MICE industry.

Thailand’s MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry is set to expand its international business relationships and explore new markets through the Meet Global MICE Congress (MGMC) 2026, scheduled for December 16–17, 2026, in Moscow, Russia. The event is expected to attract over 3,000 industry professionals from more than 40 countries.

Organized by the Moscow City Tourism Committee at the World Trade Centre in Moscow, this two-day congress will bring together international and domestic buyers, event organizers, Destination Management Companies (DMCs), hotels, airlines, and other key stakeholders in the MICE sector. For Thai operators, the event serves as a platform to forge business partnerships, connect with international decision-makers, and uncover new opportunities within the growing global business travel market.

The congress will feature an exhibition showcasing services from over 150 MICE providers, alongside pre-scheduled B2B business meetings. Additionally, a “Hosted Buyers” program will bring together more than 200 senior executives—those responsible for managing corporate event budgets—from key markets, including China, India, Southeast Asia, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, Latin America, Africa, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

With approximately 70% of attendees holding C-level executive positions, the congress offers a prime opportunity for Thai DMCs, hotels, airlines, and MICE service providers to engage directly with high-level decision-makers. This event offers an opportunity to showcase potential, foster commercial partnerships, and expand businesses into international markets.

Anastasia Popova, Head of Business Tourism Development at the Moscow City Tourism Committee, highlighted the significance of participation from Thailand, stating:

“We place great importance on the involvement of industry peers and professionals from Thailand—a premier MICE destination. This conference serves as a vital platform for Thai experts to demonstrate their capabilities on a global stage and to broaden their professional networks throughout the event.”

Beyond business matchmaking, MGMC 2026 aims to explore the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of the global MICE industry, centered on the theme: “The Anatomy of Success in MICE: From Ideas and Tools to Tangible Results.”

The conference program will cover every stage of business event management—from initial concept development and financial planning to execution and evaluation. Industry leaders from around the world will share actionable insights, case studies, and emerging trends—addressing topics such as financial sustainability, digital innovation, and international market development—while highlighting strategies that operators can apply directly to their own businesses.

Moscow continues to strengthen its position as a global hub for the MICE industry. In addition to hosting large-scale international events, the city is consistently investing in the development of its infrastructure. This includes large-scale convention and exhibition centers. At the same time, event organizers can choose from over 150 unique venues—such as museums, art galleries, or historic mansions—to integrate cultural experiences into their events.

Furthermore, Moscow facilitates international travel through an electronic visa (e-Visa) system for citizens of 64 countries, alongside an increase in the number of direct flights connecting the city to major capitals worldwide.
